LCC Gala Dinner Will Honor Chef Padovani

LCC’s Culinary Arts Program honors Hawaii chef Philippe Padovani at the third annual L’ulu, Leeward Culinary Arts Gala, set for 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the college’s Pearl dining room.
Each year the school honors one of the 12 founding chefs responsible for the Hawaii regional cuisine explosion created 20 years ago. This year’s dinner highlights various locally grown products prepared by culinary arts program chefs Ian Riseley, David Millen and Michael Scully.
Other guest chefs throwing their expertise into the mix include Scott Higa of the JW Marriott Ihilani Resort & Spa, Dean Okimoto of Nalo Farms, Fred De Angelo of Ola,Elmer Guzman of Poke Stop, Russell Siu of 3660 on the Rise, Vikram Garg of Halekulani, Goran Streng of Tango, Chai Chaowasaree and previous L’ulu honorees Alan Wong and Roy Yamaguchi. The evening concludes with a silent auction and live entertainment.
