The public has one more hour each day to enjoy seven Oahu state parks, including Keaiwa Heiau State Recreation Area in Aiea Heights, now that summer hours are in place.
The state Department of Land and Natural Resources extended the hours April 1 to 7 a.m. to 7:45 p.m. daily.
Entrance gates will be open on that schedule at these recreation areas: Keaiwa Heiau, Wahiawa Freshwater park, Ka Iwi Scenic Shoreline (including Makapuu lighthouse), Sand Island, Pu’u ‘Ualaka’a State Wayside in Makiki, Malaekahana in Windward Oahu and Wa’ahila Ridge in Honolulu.
