Del.icio.usOn Jan. 5, YMCAs across Oahu held a Community Day for neighborhood families to come together and enjoy a day of fun. Hundreds of West Oahu residents gathered at the Leeward branch, located at 94-440 Mokuola St., where they participated in games, arts and crafts, sports and exercise classes. Live entertainment, bouncers and information booths were also in place to keep the crowd happy. The Waipahu location is the newest and largest edition to the eight other branches statewide. It’s a showcase of the Y’s modern touches, such as five family-style locker rooms; a 25-yard, six-lane swimming pool; and a 5,000-square-foot fitness center complete with exercise equipment that has built-in TV monitors!
