Runners young and old joined in a 2K family fun run Nov. 10 at Holomua Elementary School as a tribute to police officer Steve Favela. Police officers, firefighters, para-medics and Coast Guard members all joined in creating a memorable first run, which the Friends of Steve Favela plan to hold annually. Keiki got a firsthand introduction to police cars and motorcycles, firetrucks and ambulances. They also munched on free shave ice as well as other snacks, and sported free airbrush tattoos in addition to engaging in an assortment of fun activities including prize giveaways.
