Ho’omaluhia Botanical Garden has almost as much indoor scenery to offer admirers as it does outside.

Two art exhibits are on view this month in the visitor center of the park, located at the mauka end of Luluku Road.

“Preview into 2012” features paintings and photographs by nine artists. The show runs through Nov. 29 featuring works by Ann Bingham, Carter Black, Christine Ohtani-Chang, Mari Chang, Stephanie Hoe, Rex Maxmilian, Jean McAuliff, Rebecca Snow and Julie Schaper.

In another exhibit, ikebana photographs by Robert Gonzalez are on view through Nov. 30.

Gonzalez partnered with Kapiolani Community College’s ikebana class, where sensei Junko Kim teaches the sogetsu, or free style, form of the ancient Japanese art of flower arranging.

“Photographing these Asian floral designs for the past three years,” Gonzalez explained, “has made me more aware of Japanese culture and creativity.”

For more information on either of the free exhibits, call Olive Vanselow at 233-7323.
