Kalaheo High School library has launched a unique fundraising campaign to help maintain a good inventory of new print and audio books.

“When I learned from the current librarian Sandra Kugisaki-Ongie, that the library had no budget in these difficult economic times, we decided some fundraising was in order,” explained Martha Robertson, retired KHS librarian. “Students are asking for new books, and we need to help them read, read, read!”

Robertson set up a donations page at titlewish.com, which allows Kalaheo supporters to give online with their credit card. Titlewish is offered by Follett Library Resources to allow direct contributions, and it’s supplemented by a $250 grant from the Kalaheo Foundation and Alumni Association. The goal is $3,500 by Nov. 30.
