This week it is the super-heroes that need your help.

With only two days left, Hawaii’s Superheroes For A Cure, led by US Navy Port Engineer and avid triathlete Amy Ruth Eck are moving closer to reaching their goal of $50,000 for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

To date they have raised more than $15,000, and they’re not stopping now. The Superheroes will host an online auction and grand gala this Friday as a finale to their fundraising cause.

“We are hopeful Hawaii businesses will donate items (for the auction) that will help us reach our goal,” said Eck, a Kailua resident who is vying for the LLS Woman of the Year title.

Sparked by her friendship with LLS campaign director Alicia Aragon and having friends who have personally dealt with cancer, Eck has a passion to help people.

“We have one life to live and one live to give. God blessed me and I want to pass it on to others,” Eck explained.

For more information, to donate online or to join the online auction, visit superheroesforacure.com. To submit a donation by mail, make checks payable to LLS or Superheroes For A Cure, 30 Aulike St., Suite 406, Kailua, HI 96734.
