Sex, power and seduction will take over Hawaii Pacific University next month - but only on its Windward campus stage.

HPU’s spring production of Les Liaisons Dangereuses opens April 1 in the Paul and Vi Loo Theatre, offering a glimpse of pre-revolutionary France via “high comedy, high drama and surprising passion.”

Director Joyce Maltby (of Aikahi Park) has an able assistant in Fabienne Herold, a Kailua resident who speaks French and knows how the dialog should sound. The cast also includes Windward actors Ingrid Hagen-Keith as Cecile and Sara Cate Langham as Tourvel.

The plot is set by evil-doers Marquise de Merteuil (Lucia Milone Williams) and Le Vicomte de Valmont (Reb Beau Allen) who fashion a vicious scheme of aggression and narcissism.
