HPU’s Ohana Exhibition invites the public now through April 22 to its Hawaii Loa campus gallery.
The annual free show has art from students, faculty and staff in all media - painting, drawing, ceramics, pastels, sculpture, photography, digital art and more.
“It really gives us an opportunity for students, faculty, staff and alumni to show their talent,” said art history professor Jerry Feldman. “It’s surprising the number of faculty and staff who have been trained in the arts but don’t use it in their curriculum.”
Student talent also impresses him. “Many students who are not majoring in art come from schools where they took a lot of art training. Typically our European students, I have found, have quite a bit of background in art.”
Gallery hours are from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily in the main academic center near the entrance.
