Christmas is over and pine needles litter the floor. That brittle, browning tree has definitely seen better days.
It’s recycle time, and the city Department of Environmental Services has tips on how to do that:
1) Remove ornaments and tinsel so the tree is bare
2) Homes with a three-cart refuse/recycle system should cut trees to fit inside the green cart, allowing the lid to fully close
3) Households with a manual collection route should cut the tree into 3foot bundles and place curbside on refuse day
4) Condos and similar residences, or those who don’t want to cut up the tree themselves, can drop them off for free at any city convenience center for refuse and recycling
