The Windward Half Marathon kicks off Sunday at Kailua Intermediate School to benefit Boys & Girls Club of Hawaii, Windward Clubhouse, which is based at the school.

The annual event, called “Holokiki O ‘Alele,” features the half marathon starting at 6 a.m., a 5K race at 6:20 a.m. and a Keiki 100-yard Dash (for ages 3 to 5) at 8:30 a.m. In its 30-year history, this is the sixth year the races will benefit the Windward Clubhouse.

“This event is a great way to get out and get fit, all while supporting a positive place for kids in our community,” noted clubhouse director Maureen Purington.

Fee is $45 for the half marathon, $30 for the 5K and $15 for the keiki dash. For details and to enter, call 263-0555.

Sponsors are Boots & Kimo’s Homestyle Kitchen, Mexico Lindo, Teddy’s Bigger Burgers, Castle Medical Center and Monsanto.
