Del.icio.usWhen Hawaiian Island Creations opened a new ROXY brand store this spring in the Kailua Village Shops, everyone had something to be happy about. The food, the fashions, the models - they all guaranteed a gala introduction for the shop to this surf-loving community. Presiding over the May 30 traditional blessing was renowned Hawaiian waterman Tom “Pohaku” Stone. Sasha Dominy coordinated the fashion show as guests sipped Steinlager specials and pupus from ROXY’s new neighbors, Teddy’s Bigger Burgers, Maui Tacos, Starbucks and Jamba Juice. HIC founders Stephen and Jimmy Tsukayama and CEO Leigh Tonai were there, along with Kaneohe Ranch executives and folks from top surf fashion brands.
