Sophomore Gina Ahue scored four times, and eight Red Raiders tallied in all to lead the Kahuku girls water polo team to its fourth straight Oahu Interscholastic Association championship with a 12-5 rout of Roosevelt on May 6.
The Red Raiders exploded for five second-period goals in the win, with Mika Bailey collecting a pair of goals. Kahuku (14-0) has won all four championships since the OIA began its water polo program in 2003 and has never lost a league game.
Kahuku was to compete over the weekend in the Local Motion girls state water polo championships at the Duke Kahanamoku Aquatic Complex on the University of Hawaii campus.
Kahuku was the state tournament’s runner-up in 2005.
