A Tasty Picnic
Kraft Foods in Hawaii recently offered Oahu residents the chance to win a sampling of Kraft Foods’ new products through the “Taste Buds” sweepstakes. The grand prize winner, Judy Takasane, along with seven lucky guests, enjoyed a picnic at ‘Iolani Palace hosted by Kraft Foods’ spokeswomen Sweetie Pacarro and Jo McGarry, complete with lunch, snacks and beverages. A Donation For Healthy Living
Rehabilitation Hospital of the Pacific (REHAB) Foundation recently received the largest single donation of $5 million from the Clarence T.C. Ching Foundation. This gift represented the kick-off of REHAB’s $17.2-million capital campaign. Honoring Tradition
Duke’s Waikiki recently honored Uncle Valentine Kamealoha Apoi Ching Jr., as the 2011 Ho’okahiko Award recipient for his dedication and contribution to perpetuating Hawaiian culture. Popularly known in the surfing world as the pioneer of the paipo board, Uncle Val helped pave the way for modern-day surfing while also staying true to his roots as a native Hawaiian.
