Disney Aulani Team Donates $10,000

The team from Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa at Ko Olina, recently donated $10,000 to the Hawaii Foodbank Food 4 Keiki Backpack Program. The donation will provide food such as pasta bowls, soups, cereals, fruit and pudding cups, fruit snacks, chocolate milk and 100 percent fruit juice to kids at risk of hunger during the school year. HNB Employees Raise $1,125

As part of Hawaii National Bank’s four-month ‘Give a Little’ Summer Charity Initiative, bank employees recently raised $1,125. That money was donated to Shriners Hospital for Children in Honolulu to be used toward the construction of new facilities. Nakasone Ohana Creates Endowment Fund

The Nakasone family recently celebrated Tsuruko Nakasone’s 100th birthday by creating the Matsuro and Tsuruko Nakasone Endowment Fund at the Center for Okinawan Studies at UH Manoa. The fund, established with a $36,000 gift, honors the memory of their late father, Matsuro Nakasone, and will provide students with the opportunity to travel outside of Hawaii to study or undertake research in Okinawa-related subjects.
