This week, Lisa Lee and Nam Sun Kim of Best Drive-In on Sand Island Access Road visit the show to share their delicious and easy-to-prepare Korean recipes.

This show aired originally in October 2003.

KALBI

* 3-4 pounds kalbi (short ribs)

* 2 cups shoyu

* 1 1/2 cups sugar


 

* 1/3 cup chopped round onion

* 1 teaspoon garlic

* 1/2 teaspoon ginger

* 1/4 cup chopped green onions

* 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

* 2 tablespoons sesame seed oil

* 4 cups water

* black sesame seeds

* 2 tablespoon olive oil

Cut kalbi and marinate it overnight. Grill or broil.

KOREAN STYLE KIM CHEE PANCAKE

* 1 cup chopped kim chee

* 4 or 5 raw shrimp, chopped

* 1/4 cup chopped beef or pork

* 1/2 cup flour


* 1/3 cup mochiko

* 1 tablespoon cornstarch

* green onion

* 1/2 round onion, sliced

* olive oil, for frying

Combine all ingredients in a large bowl. Do not over-mix. Using a large spoon, create pancake shapes in the frying pan; fry in olive oil until golden brown.

For Sauce:

* shoyu

* garlic, minced

* chili pepper

* sesame seed oil

* vinegar
